Nina Winther-Kaland

Nina Winther-Kaland, StormGeo’s Research Director, has been named one of the 50 most prominent women in the Norwegian tech industry.

On March 8th, International Women’s Day, Abelia, the Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise’s (NHO) association for knowledge and technology-based enterprises, and ODA, the leading meeting place for women in the Nordics, announced the top 50 tech women in Norwegian business. On the list was StormGeo’s Nina Winther-Kaland.

“Being named one of Norway’s top 50 tech women is truly humbling. I am grateful for the recognition and will continue to work toward making the technology industry more diverse and inclusive for everyone and inspire future generations of women to pursue careers in this exciting field,” says Winther-Kaland.

Norway’s 50 Top Tech Women is an initiative to highlight talents and good role models who can help more people choose technology professions – also from outside the typical recruitment pool. Following an open nomination process, the 50 winners are selected by a jury chaired by Øystein Eriksen Søreide, the managing director at Abelia. The jury takes into account the following:

  • How she excels in understanding technology
  • Concrete contributions and achievements
  • Motivation/commitment to diversity and inclusion in technology

With her extensive knowledge and expertise, Nina Winther-Kaland demonstrates enthusiasm about technology’s ability to drive meaningful change.

“I am passionate about the potential of technology to create positive change in our society and the industries we serve. It is rewarding to see how technology makes a measurable difference in improving the safety and efficiency of our customers’ operations. This recognition is shared with StormGeo’s talented research group, having a broad span of expertise and skill sets, who make me learn something new every day,” says Winther-Kaland.
