SMS Terms for Weather Alerts

StormGeo provides opt-in SMS text message alerts worldwide to employees and authorized users of its client organizations. These alerts communicate lightning proximity, severe weather warnings, and other safety-related notifications. All messages are informational only and form part of StormGeo’s contracted weather and risk communication services.
 

Program Details

• Opt-In Methods: Depending on the region and program, users may opt in through one of several approved methods:
  • Text Keyword (U.S. and Canada): Users in the United States and Canada can text the keyword STORMGEO (case-insensitive) to StormGeo’s toll-free number +1 888 886 1680. Sending this keyword authorizes StormGeo to deliver informational weather alerts associated with the client’s subscribed services and monitored locations.
  • Web Form (Future Programs): Certain StormGeo web platforms may allow users to provide their phone number and explicitly consent to receive SMS weather alerts by checking consent boxes during the signup process.
  • Existing Regional Programs: In certain countries (for example, in Europe, Asia, and South America), users may already receive alerts through established StormGeo systems or client-provided contact data collected with appropriate consent. These programs continue to operate in accordance with local telecommunications and data protection laws.
• Confirmation Message: For keyword opt-ins, users in the United States and Canada receive an automatic confirmation message: “You’ve successfully joined StormGeo’s weather alert service. You’ll receive alerts once your organization’s subscribed locations are configured. Reply STOP to unsubscribe or HELP for assistance. Message & data rates may apply. Message frequency varies.”
• Opt-Out and Help: Reply STOP at any time to unsubscribe or HELP for assistance (where supported). You may also contact our Client Services Team at [email protected].
• Message Origin: In the United States and Canada, messages originate from StormGeo’s toll-free number +1 888 886 1680. In other countries, messages may originate from local or regional numbers or verified sender IDs that comply with local messaging regulations.
• Message Frequency: Frequency varies based on weather activity, region, the client’s subscription configuration, and any configured quiet periods.
• Message Costs: Standard message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and country.
• Privacy: Personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Notice and applicable data-protection laws in each region of operation.
