Transka Tankers Optimizes Fleet Performance with StormGeo’s s-Insight

In the competitive world of maritime shipping, efficiency is vital. Transka Tankers, a prominent Turkish shipowner, wanted to streamline their data management, compliance and performance analysis processes.  

Before adopting StormGeo’s s-Insight solution, Transka Tankers spent considerable time manually collecting MRV-DCS (Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification - Data Collection System) data for regulatory compliance.

Transka Tankers have been utilizing StormGeo's  s-Insight solution since the strategic partnership agreement was signed between StormGeo and Turkish Shipowner’s Association.   

Through the partnership, Transka Tankers uses our products and services; namely, s-Insight Log data reporting tool, s-Insight Fleet Performance Management System including technical, commercial and environmental performance packages as well as the daily alert service from our Fleet Performance Center.   

Prior to collaborating with StormGeo, Transka Towers spent a huge amount of time every year sending MRV-DCS data to be verified. In the absence of having a well- structured program, they were left to manually adjust and correct data, collect MRV-DCS and CII data in spreadsheets and in addition to having data verification issues, they collected noon reports and performance reports from vessels manually via email. When new regulations and performance analysis cases were drawn, a new excel spreadsheet would be created as their data capture point. 

The impact of StormGeo’s s-Insight solution has been significant, with automated checks and accurate data, Transka Tankers now gets high data quality in a short time.  

“There is automatic data transfer from StormGeo to the Verifier portal. Data transfer to the renewed emission portals of all Classes in different formats with StormGeo has made it very easy and we are also now able to transfer data to MRV THETIS very easily and with a single file upload”, said Sahin Ocak, Technical Manager at Transka Tankers. 

When Transka Tankers decided to work with us, our Fleet Performance Center and shipping support team applied a detailed setup process for each vessel and rolled out the s-Log reporting tool on the vessels.

"We provided training to the crew in the first month and collected feedback and shared our knowledge about how to record data in the system. Today, all performance analysis via run via StormGeo's s-Insight. No vessels send noon reports; instead, they receive the push messages sent via s-Insight Log server in their specific formats.   

Through historical data, they can run simulations for CII and EU ETS and track vessels’ positions in our s-Insight web platform, including weather conditions.   

All users now access the same database, streamlining communication and decision-making, instead of relying on emails and multiple spreadsheets that made data quality checks inconsistent.   

As a result of using StormGeo's solutions, compliance with MRV-DCS and EU ETS, regulations have become seamless, and performance optimized.                                                                                       

Additionally, Transka Tankers carried out a satisfaction survey about the usage of s-Insight on vessels, and the results were impressive. More than 90% of users on board, provided positive feedback noting their appreciation of the s-Insight Log Recorder.
