We are proud to announce that StormGeo’s headquarters in Bergen, Norway, is certified in ISO 14001, an environmental standard for organizations that want to enhance their environmental performance.
The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) aims to facilitate and support national and international trade and commerce by developing standards that people everywhere can recognize and respect. ISO standards are a crucial part of our society as they ensure quality and safety in products and services within international trade. In addition, businesses can be seen to benefit from ISO standards, as they help cut costs by improved systems and procedures put in place.
The ISO 14001 standard, specifically, is an environmental standard specifying the requirements of an environmental management system. It is intended for use by organizations wanting to manage their environmental responsibilities in a way that contributes to the environmental pillar of sustainability.
At StormGeo, 75% of the work we do is on the ocean. Our passion for the weather and the protection of natural resources motivates us to support our clients in making informed, environmentally responsible business decisions. Earning an ISO 14001 certification supports this ambition, helping us earn the trust of our stakeholders, reduce our emissions, use our resources more efficiently, and optimize our energy consumption.
Tthe path to becoming certified has provided us with a workable framework for identifying, monitoring and complying with the specific environmental requirements that apply to our work. Not only that, but the ISO 14001 certification also helps us save time and money through improved data collection.
In line with our sustainability work, StormGeo has developed three environmental objectives that we work toward and continuously monitor.
