.NET Developer

About the Role  

StormGeo is looking for a skilled .NET Developer to join our Routing Advisory Services (RAS) product team, to help build and enhance our software applications for shipping. As a .NET Developer, you’ll work closely with cross-functional teams - including product managers, designers, and other developers - to understand business needs and deliver high-quality, scalable solutions. Your expertise in software development, coding best practices, and problem-solving will play a key role in shaping reliable and user-friendly products that deliver real value to our clients. 

Main Responsibilities  

• Design, develop, and maintain applications for vessel routing and communications, including background processes and web-based tools for global vessel routing, data maintenance, and report generation. 
• Design, develop, and maintain Web API services. 
• Ensure application security by adhering to best practices and implementing secure coding standards. 
• Optimize application performance for scalability and efficiency. 
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver technical solutions. 
• Conduct code reviews to maintain high coding standards and promote best practices. 
• Maintain clear documentation for development processes, system architecture, and codebases. 

Core Requirements  

• 3+ years of experience in .NET and ASP.NET development. 
• Experience with SQL databases. 
• Experience in API development (REST or gRPC). 
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues. 
• Good understanding of software development best practices (code quality, security, performance). 
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams. 
• Demonstrated ownership, accountability, and commitment to delivering high-quality software. 
• Ability to manage and work on multiple projects in parallel. 
• Willingness to maintain and improve existing codebases. 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Understanding of application containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). 
• Experience with messaging systems (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka, or similar). 
• Experience in system architecture design (e.g., Clean Architecture or other architectural patterns). 
• Familiarity with application monitoring, including logs, metrics, and observability tools. 
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes. 
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure or AWS is a plus).
