Join us as a Junior Weather Technician, the starting point in our exciting career series. You’ll support our weather data products, including the BonVoyage System (BVS). Responsibilities include global frontal analysis, customer support for BVS, and ensuring smooth data flow. Collaborate with various teams and customers to troubleshoot issues and improve operations. Main Responsibilities

  • Provide essential customer and technical support for the innovative BVS software, helping clients optimize their operations
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of weather patterns, including frontal and high-low assessments, to enhance StormGeo’s product offerings
  • Create and distribute critical tropical cyclone updates, ensuring timely and accurate information for clients using StormGeo products
  • Oversee weather data displays within the BVS software, ensuring seamless functionality and an excellent user experience
  • Manage and update the BVS account database, supporting internal operations with accurate and organized information
  • Monitor system logs and alerts, proactively addressing any technical issues related to weather data distribution to ensure uninterrupted service
  • Track and log vessel polling activities, maintaining up-to-date records in support of customer operations
  • Receive specialized training to perform global ice analysis, expanding your expertise and contributions
  • Take on additional dynamic tasks as directed by management, offering opportunities to grow within the role

Core Requirements

  • Minimum college student with an emphasis on studying a scientific field, a B.S. in a science related field, or a Navy/Air Force weather forecaster
  • Proactive when it comes to problem-solving
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Ability to take initiative and set or reorder priorities
  • Ability to respond quickly to workflow fluctuations or changes in priorities and to meet deadlines accordingly
  • Ability to work in an ambiguous and changing environment
  • Ability to multi-task, use personal judgment, and utilize strong decision-making skills
  • Good typing, analytical, and computer skills
  • Flexibility to work as part of a team or independently, as needed, to meet shifting deadlines, priorities and schedules
